Players to Watch
Chase Partridge (Niagara North Stars): A very versatile player who is relied upon to play in all situations, whether as a forward or a defenceman. He can do this as he has a very high hockey IQ and high compete. Partridge is very comfortable with the puck on his stick and can find open teammates with his vision or if needed to utilize his strength and puck protections skills to buy time. Off the forecheck he anticipates well and cuts off passing lanes, allowing him to create turnovers and offence. He will be a handful for opponents this year.
Patrick Farmer (North Shore Whitecaps): Leads through his work ethic and won't back down from any opponent. He is a tenacious forechecker, getting on defenceman quickly, and he will use good stick detail and physicality to separate pucks. Farmer isn't shy of going to the dirty areas and loves to win puck battles along the boards or loose pucks near the net. When he has the puck on his stick, he knows how to create some time and open up some good passing lanes for his linemates.
